Tsfat Orange

Post by mzweben »

Congratulations to the Tsfat Orange team. This season these young men really came together. They worked hard, they played different positions, and in what may be a Hapoel first, all seven of them scored a goal.

The team had a great run in the playoffs, and each of the players contributed.

Raanan Hileman Ranaan is fast, determined, and never quits. He played tough all season, improved every game, never stopped moving and challenging the other team, and was an anchor on defense in the playoffs.

Noah Horn Noah was solid all season, and scored a tough goal in the playoffs. But he saved his best for last. Playing defense in the final game, he turned EVERYTHING around. Really a terrific performance.

Gil Melkin Gil has terrific footwork and ball control. He carried the attack all season, and he played tough against older, bigger kids. Gil really stepped it up in the playoffs, pushing the ball foward and passing beautifully.

Jacob Serfaty Jacob was strong in midfield and attack all season, including a spectacular goal that he hit left footed while he was falling down. He plays hard, he gets better every game, and he is a great teammate. In the playoffs, and especially in the final game, he was relentless.

Ben Shemony Ben did a great job in goal this season. He also showed that he is a very solid position player, but when we needed his sure hands in the playoffs, he came through, and held a tough Maroon team scoreless in regulation and in three overtime periods.

Jesse Zweben Jesse is fast and strong and just always seems to be in the right place at the right time. In overtime in the final game, he kept shaking loose and was the only player on either team to get a shot on goal. At the end, he slammed a shot past a very tough goalie for the win.

Noah Zweben This year, Noah decided to stay back, work the midfield, and distribute the ball to his teammates. In the 3 on 3 overtime in the final game, Noah refused to let the ball cross over midfield, and he fed his brother repeatedly, finishing with a perfect pass for the winning goal.
